Common questions
Does the applicant have to wait for the AI when applying?
No. The application is saved immediately and the screening runs in the background via WP-Cron. Applicants see a success message right away; the score appears in the employer dashboard a moment later.
Can I use it without AI scoring?
Yes. Turn screening off and the plugin still works as a full applicant tracker — application form, employer dashboard, statuses, CV downloads and emails — just without scores and best-first sorting.
Which CV formats are supported?
PDF, DOC and DOCX uploads. PDFs are read directly by the AI provider; where a provider cannot read a document, the cover letter and form fields are used for scoring.
If my own AI provider fails, does it fall back to the Hiremium API?
Never. With your own key the plugin only ever talks to your provider. Failed screenings are retried automatically from the queue and can be re-run from wp-admin.
Can I customise the templates and emails?
Yes — copy any template into your-theme/hsaps/ to override it. Emails use documented tokens and every notification can be toggled in settings.
Where are CVs stored?
In a protected folder inside your WordPress uploads directory. Direct URL access is blocked; employers download CVs through a permission-checked link in their dashboard.
